METHOD FOR TREATMENT OF FACIAL NERVE INJURIES

The invention relates to the medicine, namely to the neurosurgery and it can be used for surgical treatment of facial nerve traumas and diseases. A method includes the use of separate facial nerve fibers, innervating of mimic muscles, and central end of descending branch of sublingual nerve. Central segment of branch of additional nerve and descending branch of sublingual nerve, the cervical branch of uninjured facial nerve of opposite side, connected by the transplant of sural nerve of necessary length with the fibers of injured facial nerve, are used as donor fibers. On the side of the injured facial nerve a cut is made from a mastoid process along the anterior edge of nodding muscle at the level of the its superior third. Behind from a parotid salivary gland a facial nerve is separated and transected in the place of outlet from the stylomastoid opening. In the distal segment of facialnerve the innervating of mimic muscles fibers are separated, and at the level of carotid bifurcation the descending branch of sublingual nerve is separated, it is carefully mobilized and transected. Along the anterior edge of nodding muscles an additional nerve is separated, the innervating of nodding muscles fibers are separated and transected on the equal entering in m. Stemoclaidomastoideus. Then a nerve is separated from an opposite side, its branches ere separated, one of which (to the saphenous muscle of neck) is transected and sutured together with the pre-separated transplant of sural nerve, the opposite end of which is delivered in a wound on the side of injury and sutured together with part of the separated fibers of facial nerve. The descending branch of sublingual nerve and separated fibers of additional nerve are sutured to other part of facial nerve fibers.
