A dust separator for acid regeneration plants comprises a scrubber in the form of a venturi with an adjustable throat (5) whose cross-section is varied by raising and lowering a hollow cylinder (4) between two fixed cylinders (3), and a ring of sonotrodes (10) mounted in the upper part of the venturi to sonicate a mixture of wash water and dust. The dust separator is also useful in spray roasting plants.
