The device has a holder for a piston syringe (2) that is connected with a proximal end of an embryo transfer catheter (3). A syringe piston (4) is detachably fastened to an adjustable actuator (5). The holder is fastened to a grip unit (7), and a finger-operatable trigger unit (8) is rotatably supported at the holder. The trigger unit for supporting the rotary motions in both directions of rotation and which activates pressure and/or suction movements of the syringe piston has an opening (9) for the finger operating the trigger unit.
