A process for producing zeolites with a high Si / Al atomic ratio between 40 and Ñ, in particular pentasyl group zeolites, reacting amorphous polysilicic acids with a source of aluminum ions and optionally a matrix at temperatures of up to 100 ° C is described. The process is characterized in that ammonium hydroxide and / or an alkali silicate is added to the reaction solution. The zeolites obtained by this procedure have (a) an average particle size between about 0.3 and 0.6 microns, 90% of the particles being in the range between about 0.1 and 0.7 microns; and (b) more than 95% crystallinity.
