Desalination cell by low pressure distillation by using a hydraulic siphon. It consists of a system in which, using a hydraulic siphon between two arches, a flow of seawater taken from surface layers is passed from one to another, and has a relatively high temperature (from 15 ° in winter to 26 ° in summer, in the SE areas of Spain). This siphon rises until its height lowers the water pressure until it reaches that of the steam pressure at that temperature, which vaporizes. A heat exchanger is added to the siphon enclosure, through which cold water from deeper layers circulates, and which functions as another independent siphon, inside - first and between two similar boxes. This element condenses the steam and the condensate is collected, lowering it by a tube to another cassette at the height of the previous ones.
