Method for automatically correcting the systematic errors in measurement machines and in manufacturing machines, in particular in machine tools, comprising the following operative steps in succession: - identifying a parametric mathematical model of the machine, - initially assigning to the parameters of said parametric mathematical model some numerical values considered closer to those values, which can be considered effective, obtaining thus a provisional mathematical model of the machine, - performing a plurality of measurements of mutually independent distances within the field of work machine, in various directions, the most of which are not parallel to the axes of the machine, obtaining thus, values measured distances experimentally, - determining the differences between said values of distances measured experimentally and distances corresponding values dedu acids of said provisional mathematical model, to define an index corresponding provisional inaccuracy of the machine, - varying said parameters in the sense of improving the rate of provisional inaccuracy predefined for, thus, a new provisional mathematical model of the machine, that is closer to the mathematical model of the machine - if the new inaccuracy index thus obtained is not satisfactory, proceed iteratively with new determinations of the differences between the values of distances measured experimentally and the corresponding distance values deduced said provisional mathematical model until said parameter variations do not produce any further significant improvement in said inaccuracy index to obtain, in this way, the mathematical model of the machine, - obtaining from said mathematical model the position errors of element Final machine if the machine prese nta degrees of freedom of rotation of said final element, also its orientation errors, and - providing the numerical control system with data errors for correction.
