The bookcase has an alarm device integrated in an armored trunk provided with a foldable cover. The alarm device is arranged in one of the shelves mounted on the frame of the bookcase. The shelves are mounted on the frame with the use of hinges, such that the shelves are movably supported and can be turned with respect to a longitudinal axis to expose objects on the bookcase. The shelves are supported by a mechanical, hydraulic or pneumatic system which moves the shelves upon receiving a control signal. The armored trunk can be opened using a special key.
