The device includes a timer and a depth gauge connected to a control circuit. The control circuit operates an inflator to expand a floater using gas pressure when the measured time of the timer has exceeded a predetermined time or when the depth gauge has measured dangerous water depth. The device is set integral to the diving suit of the diver, preferably on the abdominal or cervical section of the diver. The device also includes a signaling unit for indicating the location of the diver.
