POWDER FORMULATION USEFUL FOR SEED TREATMENT AND FOLIAR TREATMENT OF PLANTS

water-dispersible powder formulations used in connection with seed treatmentand foliar treatment of plants provide excellent dustand rub-off control. The powder formulations comprise an active ingredient, awetting agent, a dispersant, an anticaking agent, and anadhesion ingredient selected from the group consisting of a sodium salt of apolyacrylic acid, a sodium salt of maleic acid/acrylic acidcopolymer, polyvinyl pyrrolidone, an alkylated polyvinyl pynrolidone, andmixtures thereof. The wetting agent is present in an amount thatis effective for enabling the powder formulation to be wettable by cold water.The dispersant is present in an amount that is effective forenabling the powder formulation to be dispersible in cold water. Theanticaking agent is present in an amount that is effective for enablingthe powder formulation to be re-suspendable in water. The adhesion ingredientis present in an amount that is effective for enabling thepowder formulation to adhere to a plant leaf or seed. The powder formulationsare especially suitable for containment in water solubleand/or water-dispersible bags or pouches, such use tending to render theactive ingredient safer to handle and therefore better for consumersand the environment.
