Identification and quantification of constituents of a sample is achieved bymobility-based electropherograms obtained from capillaryelectrophoresis, the mobilities being normalized by zero correction followedby division by the mobility of a selected marker. Zerocorrection is achieved either relative to a separate marker or by calculationbased on the same marker. The resulting electropherograms aremore recognizable since they more closely resemble the scanned separationpatterns obtained with planar gels, and individual constituentsof the sample are more easily and reliably identified since their positions inthe electropherogram are substantially constant from oneelectropherogram to the next and hence reproducible to a high degree ofaccuracy.
