A digital signal processor (291)for determining a property of a material flowingthrough a conduit (103A-103B). The digital signalprocessor (201) of this invention receives signalsfrom two pick-off sensors (105-105') mountedat two different points along a flow tube at afirst sample rate. The signals are converted todigital signals. The digital signals are decimatedfrom a first sample rate to a desired sample rate.The frequency of the received signals is thendetermined from the digital signals at the desiredsample rate.
