Support means (10) for use in a lift installation, wherein the support means(10) comprisesat least two cables (11.1, 11.2) of several strands (12), which are designedfor acceptanceof force in longitudinal direction (L), and wherein the cables (11.1, 11.2)are arrangedalong the longitudinal direction (L) of the support means (10) at a spacing(A1) from oneanother and are connected by means of a cable casing (13), which forms a web(14)between the two cables (11.1, 11.2). Connecting means (15) are provided in theregion ofthe web (14), wherein the connecting means (15) are so designed that theyenable aguided relative movement of the cables (11.1, 11.2) relative to one another inlongitudinaldirection (L).
