A METHOD FOR ENGINEERING A CONTROL SYSTEM

The present method is a method to automate the repeatable process ofapplicationengineering microprocessor based control systems and creating the relateddocumentation tosubmit for engineer approval and construct the control system. Prior to thismethod engineeringevery decision about point assignment, part selection, controller addressinget al was either madeand only recorded upon the engineering documents or made in the field andeither recordedmanually or not at all. As the result when those engineering decisions wererequired elsewherein the engineering documents individuals could only refer to those documentswhen retabulatingthe information. The present method allows a user to record all most all ofthe engineeringdecisions in a soft environment allowing the decisions to be repeatably usedin every engineerdocument. As the result efficiency in the task of application engineering isincreased and errorscreated as information is transferred are eliminated.
