A method of analyzing a composition including live crude includes separatingthe composition into a vapor phase and a liquid phase. A composition of thevapor phase is determined with a gas chromatograph (50). At least a portion ofthe liquid phase is deposited in a vessel (12), and a headspace vapor phase iscollected from the vessel (12). A composition of the headspace vapor isdetermined with the gas chromatograph (50).
