The invention relates to a logistic system for transporting a postal item on atransport path within a postal distribution network. The transport pathcontains several nodes of the postal distribution network, in particular, anode which corresponds to a delivery point, and at least one node whichcorresponds to a sorting point. The logistics system is characterised in thatthe node is allocated a defined identification characteristic and that a firstnode is allocated the identification characteristic of a second node. Thesecond node precedes or follows the first node on the transport path of thepostal item. The invention relates to a method for determining the transportpath of a postal item.
