The invention relates to a method for continuous casting and rolling with ahigh casting rate and subsequent hot-rolling of relatively thin metal strands,especially steel strands (1), the target temperatures (6) of the hot strip (2)being pre-defined. Said method enables temperature losses on the hot strip (2)to be reduced by increasing the temperatures of the work rolls (4) with a pre-determined rate of increase starting from a low initial temperature (5), andby adjusting the temperature (15) of the strip to a target roll temperature(6) of the hot strip (2) and/or by regulating or controlling the intensity ofthe roll cooling (18).
