PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for inexpensively, easily and safely producing D-glucuronic acid and D-glucuronolactone in high yield.;SOLUTION: The method for producing the D-glucuronic acid and/or the D-glucuronolactone comprises oxidizing sucrose to provide a sugar carboxylic acid (and a salt thereof) (glucuronyl-fructoside, β-D-fructosyl-(2→1)-α-D-glucuronic acid and a salt thereof), adding yeast or the like to the product to hydrolyze the fructose part of the sugar carboxylic acid (and the salt thereof) and to assimilate it, and collecting the produced glucuronic acid and/or the glucuronolactone.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
