The invention concerns a method for switching audiovisual components in the compressed domain. The method consists in delivering in output, based on two audiovisual signals, a digital signal whereof the components are generated: until switching time, by recopying the components of the first digital audiovisual signal and recoding through a set of transformations the preceding image unit or comprising the image corresponding to the switching time; after switching time TSUB0/SUB, by recopying the components of the second digital audiovisual signal and recoding through a set of transformations the following image unit or comprising the image corresponding to the switching time. The invention also concerns a device and a system for digital switching. In particular, the invention is applicable to switching terrestrial digital television broadcasts.
