The invention relates to containers for coating compositions that are applied by means of rollers. Said containers comprise a wall, a bottom, a cover (4) which closes the container (1, 30), is fastened directly to the container (1, 30), and seals relative thereto, and a separate roll-off device (5, 31) that can be disposed at least in part in the container (1, 30). Said roll-off device (5, 31) is provided with a roll-off surface, by means of which excess coating composition can be removed from a roller that is introduced into the container (1, 30) by rolling said roller from the roll-off surface. The separate roll-off device (5, 31) is removably fixed to the cover (4) that is supported on the container or to a bottom face of the bottom (3) of the container.
