A liver disease rating apparatus that is capable of rating with high precision the progression of pathological condition of liver disease, for example, capable of determining with high precision whether or not therapy combining interferon with ribavirin is to be applied to patients with liver disease. Further, there are provided a relevant method of liver disease rating, liver disease rating system, liver disease rating program and recording medium. In particular, there is provided a liver disease rating apparatus wherein the index value indicating the degree of liver fibrosis is computed from the amino acid concentration data of rating object containing a value relating to amino acid concentration according to at least one index expression consisting of a fractional expression employing an amino acid concentration as a variable, and wherein the pathological condition of liver disease of rating object is rated on the basis of the computed index value.
