A hollow capsule for medical use and its preparation method. The composition of its raw materials contains 0.5-26 by weight of carrageenan, 75-98 by weight of cellulose derivatives and/or resins, and 1-12 by weight of alcohols. The preparation method is as follows: placing all raw materials except alcohols into a container followed by adding water, adding alcohols during the process of melting to form a gum-solution, then dipping into the gum, cooling and drying, demoulding, cutting and closing to give the hollow capsules. The hollow capsule of the present invention enjoys stability, long shelf life, and meets the criteria of the latest version of Pharmacopoeia of the People's Republic of China and/or those of the national standards.
