The present invention relates to an air conditioner and a control method thereof. More particularly, the present invention relates to an intellective blowing air conditioner and its intellective blowing method. The intellective blowing air conditioner includes a central controller, a blowing unit, a CCD camera and an image identifying and processing unit. The digital CCD camera connects to the central controller, and the central controller connects the blowing unit and controls the operation of the blowing unit. The present invention applies the image identifying and processing technique to the air conditioning, recognizes and finds out the position of persons, and sends the control data processed by software arithmetic in a high performance processor into the controller of the air conditioner. Thus the corresponding operation of the blowing unit can be controlled, and the air conditioner realizes “air following person”, the air condition is more humanized, and peoples can feel more comfortable. Furthermore, the air conditioner can realizes “blowing strongly when there is one person in room, and blowing weakly when there is no person in room”, and it saves electric power in operation to save energy.
