A SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR FILTERING SPAM MAIL, AND A MAIL CLIENT TERMINAL AND MAIL SERVER

A method and system for filtering the spam mail include: a mail client terminal for learning the features of the selected mail sample, generating a learning database, and transmitting the generated learning database to a mail server; the mail server for integrating the learning database from the mail client terminal with the original feature database, and generating the latest feature database for the mail client terminal, and filtering the mails which are received by the mail server and corresponding to the mail client terminal by using the latest feature database of the client terminal. A mail server and mail client terminal are provided. By the cooperation between the mail client terminal and the mail server, the spam mail is filtered, the use of the bandwidth is reduced, the receiving time is shorted, and when the filtering rate for the spam mail is advanced, the error rate for the non-spam mail also is reduced.
