A torsional-vibration damping device (1) for propeller shafts and similar, characterized by having two contiguous portions (2a, 2b) of a propeller shaft (2), and an active compensating joint (3) connecting the two portions (2a, 2b) mechanically; the active compensating joint (3) being made of a composite material having piezoelectric properties and deformable on command by application of a voltage.
