[PROBLEMS] To provide a means for controlling the activity of SLIM1 and a means for prevention and/or treatment of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] A method for deubiquitination of ubiquitinated SLIM1, a method for stabilization of SLIM1 and a method for hypertrophization of a myocardial cell, using an USP (USP 15, USP 20, USP 21, USP 22 or USP 33); a method for identification of a compound capable of inhibiting the deubiquitination of ubiquitinated SLIM1 with an USP; a method for identification of a compound capable of inhibiting the binding between an USP and SLIM1 or ubiquitinated SLIM1; a method for identification of a compound capable of inhibiting the hypertrophy of a myocardial cell caused by the deubiquitination of ubiquitinated SLIM1 with a USP; a method for inhibition of SLIM1, a method for prevention of the hypertrophy of a myocardial cell and a method for prevention and/or treatment of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, using a compound capable of inhibiting the deubiquitination activity of a USP; an SLIM1 inhibitor, an anti-hypertrophic agent for a cardiac muscle and a prophylactic and/or therapeutic agent for hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, comprising the compound; and a reagent kit.
