A method of endoscopical diagnosis or treatment which comprises: inserting a guide catheter into the body; projecting the above-described guide catheter from the frond end of an endoscope; inserting a medical device for diagnosing or treating the living body into the above-described guide catheter; projecting the device in a certain length from the above-described guide catheter; thus performing a first diagnosis or treatment; taking off the above-described medical device from the above-described guide catheter; inserting the medical device into the above-described guide catheter; projecting the device in a second certain length determined depending on the first certain length; and thus performing a second diagnosis or treatment.
