The invention relates to a segmented two-flange sabot for a projectile (1) having a subcalibre penetrator (2). The two flanges (6, 7) of said sabot are spaced apart from each other in the direction of the longitudinal axis (4) and are interconnected via a subcalibre, trough-shaped, central sabot piece (8) that positively rests against the projectile (1). The aim of the invention is to reduce the weight of the sabot (3) as compared to conventional sabots while achieving the same flexural rigidity. For this purpose, the two flanges (6, 7) of the sabot (3) are interconnected, in addition to the central sabot piece (8), via individual braces (9) which are laterally spaced apart from the central sabot piece (8), every sabot segment (5) being associated with at least one respective brace (9).
