SELF-LIGATING ORTHODONTIC BRACKETS THAT HAVE MULTIPLE INITIALLY OPEN ARCH WIRE SLOTS LIGATABLE WITH A SINGLE COVER

Self ligating orthodontic brackets include a bracket base and a ligation cover which interacts with the bracket base in order to provide ligation of at least two arch wires associated with the bracket base. This may be accomplished by an orthodontic bracket (280) that includes a bracket base (282) and a ligation cover (284) hindgedly attached to the base (282) by a hinge (286). The cover (284) is configured so as to entirely enclose two arch wires (287, 288) within respective arch wire slots while the cover (284) is in a closed position relative to the base (282). The cover (284) is selectively rotatable about the hinge (286) between an open position, in which the two arch wires (287, 288) are completely unligated to the base (282), and the closed position.
