Rasp handle for performing minimally invasive total hip arthroplasty

The handle has an insertion unit with an engagement slot to selectively engage a cable which is affixable to a rasp (204). A selectively actuatable grip is operable to tension the cable. A lock selectively locks the grip in a position to tension the cable. An impact surface receives blows to place or remove the rasp. The insertion unit has a distal rasp engagement guide sized for insertion into a rasp guide channel. An independent claim is also included for a provisional femoral neck apparatus.
