The invention relates to an apparatus and a method for sending at least one secret parameter within an area which is surrounded by sides, in which the secret parameter can be emitted into the area by means of electromagnetic waves, without the use of wires, at least by means of one transmitter, and the electromagnetic waves are designed such that the electromagnetic waves are absorbed by the sides of the area in such a manner that the secret parameter cannot be received correctly from the electromagnetic waves which occur outside that area. Furthermore, the invention also covers an arrangement having at least one transmitter and an area in which at least one secret parameter can be emitted, at least by means of a transmitter, without the use of wires by means of electro­magnetic waves within the area surrounded by sides, and the sides of the area are designed such that the electromagnetic waves are absorbed by the sides of the area in such a manner that the secret parameter cannot be received correctly from the electromagnetic waves which occur outside that area.
