A multicarrier transmitter apparatus capable of improving information transmission efficiency regardless of the attenuation characteristic of a bandpass filter used. In this apparatus, BPFs (124, 126) limit the bands of transmitted data. A padding position calculating part (102) decides, based on the attenuation characteristics of the BPFs (124,126), an insertion position at which to insert padding bits in the transmitted data. A padding part (103) inserts the padding bits at the insertion position decided by the padding position calculating part (102).
