Disclosed is an agent for inhibiting angiogenesis or mesenchymal-type or amoeboid-type invasion of a cancer cell. The agent comprises, as an active ingredient, a polypeptide comprising an amino acid sequence depicted in SEQ ID NO:1 or 3 or an analogue thereof or a polynucleotide encoding the polypeptide or the analogue. Also disclosed is a method for treatment of a disease for which the inhibition of angiogenesis or the inhibition of mesenchymal-type or amoeboid-type cancer invasion or metastasis is effective. The method comprises the step of administering the peptide, the analogue or the polynucleotide to a patient. Further disclosed is use of the peptide, the analogue or the polynucleotide for the production of an agent for inhibiting angiogenesis or mesenchymal-type or amoeboid-type invasion of a cancer cell.
