A method for fabricating part of a kitchen-ware article such as a plate made of glass, porcelain or ceramic and comprising at least one electronically readable data carrier, especially a transponder, containing information. A casting/sealing compound, as well as the data carrier, is mounted in a recess in the article i.e. plate, which is heated to a temperature above room-temperature to accelerate the curing process for the compound material. An independent claim is included for part of a kitchen-ware item such as a plate.
