The parts of the flight plan of an aircraft corresponding to lateral paths at low altitude can contain passages limiting lateral manoeuvring liberty either by risks of terrain collision or of penetration into flight prohibited area. The inventive method makes it possible to draw a crew attention to said risks by displaying on the on-board navigation screen in order to redouble attention thereof. For this purpose, a detection method which is similar to the methods of TAWS terrain collision risk warning systems and uses protection aircraft related envelops is applied, wherein said envelops are adapted to observe the totality of spaces necessary for the aircraft for carrying out a level flight turn as tight as authorised, taking into account a local wind.
