The present application relates to a novel family of cationic dichromophoric compounds containing two units of hydrazone type connected by a cationic linker arm, which can be used as a direct dye, and to a dye composition for dyeing keratin fibres, in particular human keratin fibres such as the hair, comprising at least one such compound in a suitable dyeing medium. The present application also relates to the dyeing method using this composition and to the uses thereof.
