Soldering machine (1) for soldering under a shielding gas with a preheating space (2), a soldering space (3) under the shielding gas, a cooling space (4) connected to soldering machine channel (5), so arranged that the product to be soldered can be introduced thru entry hole (20) in the preheating space and via this can be transported thru the soldering space, cooling space and exit hole (21). The entry and exit holes are set deeper so that an intermediate region of channel (5) between the entry hole and cooling space or between the exit hole and preheating space is such that highest level of hole (20) or hole (21) is deeper than the deepest level of the intermediate region. An independent claim is included for a method of of soldering under a shielding as as described above.
