Method and device for transferring a fibrous web

A device for transfering the start of a fibrous sheet (1) from a first part to a second (downstream) part of a machine, using transfer strip(s) (22) formed from the sheet and a transfer device preferably running laterally of the machine rollers and cylinders, has an arrangement for introducing a supporting strip (13) into the second machine part. The supporting strip is used to guide the transfer strip(s) into the second machine part. An independent claim is included for a corresponding sheet transfer process, in which (i) the supporting strip is introduced at low speed into the course of the sheet in the second machine part, (ii) the introduction speed is increased, (iii) at least one transfer strip is bonded with the supporting strip in the region before the second part and (iv) the transfer strip is guided into the second part together with the supporting strip.
