Method for Studying Catalyst Homogeneity

A method for identifying whether a catalyst batch is inhomogeneous or homogeneous comprising:(i) obtaining a sample from said catalyst batch;(ii) polymerising at least one olefin in the presence of said sample to form an olefin polymer;(iii) compression moulding at least a part of said olefin polymer to form a sheet having a thickness of 20 to 200 microns;(iv) counting the number of gels present within said sheet or a given area thereof;(v) depending on the number of gels counted in step (iv), determining whether the catalyst batch is inhomogeneous or homogeneous with reference to a standard.
