The invention relates to a method for creating a blank (1) for producing a protective screen for sports glasses, said method being characterised in that the blank (1 ) is produced by injecting a tinted transparent thermoplastic material into an injection mould comprising a cavity which is arranged in such a way as to form a plate (10), and from which the screen is to be removed once a determined form has been cut out. Said injection mould also comprises an injection region provided with an inlet which communicates with an injection point (12) and an outlet which communicates with the cavity by an injection threshold (13). Said injection region is arranged in such a way as to form a removable injection heel (11) which is attached to the plate (10), the ratio of the length (L1 ) of the injection threshold (13) and the length (L2) of the plate (10) being between 15 and 100 %, preferably between 30 and 80 %.
