The invention relates to a toilet system (1) for receiving and evacuating human excrements, comprising a receiving area (4) for the excrements, into which these are released, and comprising a discharge line (3), which is connected to the receiving area. The toilet system can be used both as a toilet for sitting upon as well as a urinal. To this end, a device (12, 13) is provided by means of which the receiving area can be extended at least partially in the height thereof whereby enabling the receiving area to serve as a urinal. According to another aspect of the invention, this device is integrated in a toilet lid/seat assembly.
