摘要
The invention relates to a method for preventing data packet losses when updating an address table (AT) that is stored in a computer (R1) of a local area network (LN) and comprises allocations (ZO1, ZO2, ZO3) of computer addresses (MAC1, MAC2, MAC3, MAC4) valid in the local area network (LN) to computer addresses (IP1, IP2, IP3, IP4) valid in the Internet to mail data packets (DP). According to the inventive method, an address allocation (ZO1, ZO2, ZO3) stored in the address table (AT) is updated once a validity timer (GT1, GT2, GT3) has run out, an address allocation (ZO1) being marked (1) in the address table (AT) once the validity timer (GT1) of said address allocation (ZO1) has run out. The computer (R1) then requests (3, 4) the computer address (MAC2) valid in the local area network (LN) regarding the available computer address (IP2) valid in the Internet for said address allocation (ZO1). The determined computer address (MAC2) valid in the local area network (LN) is then entered into said address allocation (ZO1) in the address table (AT) and the marking (M) for the address allocation (ZO1) is cleared. The inventive method has the advantage of keeping an address allocation (ZO1, ZO2, ZO3) available for a target computer (R2, R3, R4) even when the address allocation (ZO1, ZO2, ZO3) is updated, resulting in preventing data packet (DP) losses and maintaining the quality of the local area network (LN).
