An advertising method and apparatus for a portable selling device are provided to enable an advertisement owner system to calculate exposure numbers of the advertisement by transmitting the reproduction number of the advertisement. A mobile advertisement display device(10) is mounted on a portable selling device and includes a connector(21), a memory(20), a flat panel display(18), and a controller(14). The connector receives an article ejection driving signal from the portable selling device. The memory stores advertisement data related to the articles contained in the portable selling device, and other article advertisement data. The flat panel display displays the advertisement data. The controller determines an article ejection driving state based on the article ejection driving signal and controls the flat panel display, so that the flat panel display displays the advertisement data of a main article or the other articles according to a prestored advertisement display condition.
