A support device with a connection for accepting a shearing force and connecting several cables is provided to convert a shearing force in a longitudinal direction to reduce damage of a web region and wearing of a support device. A support device(10) with a connection for accepting a shearing force and connecting several cables includes at least two cables, a cable casing(13), and a transition region(14). The at least two cables are formed of a plurality of strands(12). The cable casing connects the cables in a longitudinal direction of a support device. The transition region has an opening(14.2), and a web(14.1). The web can be readily and resiliently deformed when a shearing force is applied in a longitudinal direction(L).
