The method involves carrying out a payment for a service provided to an user by printing a post-marking, carrying a postage value equal to money to be paid, at the side or on a receipt e.g. train ticket, using a postage meter, where the receipt is provided by the service and carries the money to be paid for the provided service. The postage meter is connected to a work station (10) of the user. An independent claim is also included for a system for payment of a service provided to a user by a supplier.
