A AUTO CHANNEL SEARCH METHOD IN DIGITAL TELEVISION RECEIVER

An automatic channel searching method of a digital TV receiver is provided to skip a lock check process of a channel when the level of the received signal is the reference level. An RF(Radio Frequency) member(100) tunes a channel included within an RF signal from an antenna and outputs an IF(Intermediate Frequency) signal. A de-modulation member(200) includes an IF amplifier for controlling a gain of the IF signal, detects the level of the IF signal, outputs the IF AGC voltage according to the level of the IF signal, demodulates the IF signal and outputs the TS(Transport Stream). An MPEG(Moving Picture Experts Group) decoder(300) decompresses the MPEG TS and restores the audio and video signals. A control member(400) controls the channel tuning, demodulation and decoding processes and performs an automatic channel search function according to the selection of a user.
