Encoding and decoding of extended irregular repeat-accumulate (eIRA) codes

A novel construction of irregular LDPC codes based on block-permutation matrices is presented. It generalizes the existing constructions by introducing an additional row permutation of the parity check matrix. An optimization algorithm is presented for computing the permutation parameters.
