An IPv6 network and a method for preventing a loss during transmission of a mobile IPv6 packet are provided to temporarily stop a transmission process by transmitting a PAUSE packet to a correspondent node when movement of a link layer level of a terminal is sensed, and start the transmission of a packet after handover is finished, thereby preventing a packet loss which may occur between a handover start point and a handover completion point. A method for preventing a loss during transmission of a mobile IPv6(Internet Protocol version 6) packet comprises the following steps of: enabling a mobile node(300), communicating with a correspondent node(400), to sense handover movement at a link layer of itself, and transmit a PAUSE packet to the correspondent node(400)(S601,S602); and enabling the correspondent node(400), which has received the PAUSE packet, to stop the transmission of a packet, which will be transmitted, and storing the corresponding packet(S603).
