BANDWIDTH GUARANTEE SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR VIDEO ON DEMAND SERVICE USING TOKEN ALLOCATION

A system and a method for guaranteeing the bandwidth in a video on demand service by using token information are provided to guarantee the minimum bandwidth of a network through the dynamic bandwidth allocation. A client(100) includes a TV for receiving a video on demand service or a user's PC(Personal Computer) for receiving an Internet service. A home gateway(200) includes a set top box for canceling the compression of the video traffics transmitted from a video server and for converting the signal. A middleware server(300) transmits a middleware-client program to the set top box so that the client selects the contents. A bandwidth monitoring member(400) updates network resource information of an access gateway(600) periodically through a network management server(500).
