Method for intergrated Terristeral/Cable TV Program Guide

PURPOSE: An integrated program guide method is provided to simultaneously give information of ground wave and cable broadcasting to a user program guide in a complex set top box of ground wave open cable, so as to enable a user to obtain broadcasting program information on all media. CONSTITUTION: PSIP(Program and System Information Protocol) information is extracted from ground wave program guide information and cable broadcasting program guide information. A database of ground wave/cable common program guide is configured, using the extracted PSIP information. If a user inputs a specific channel number key, whether the inputted key value is a key value of a ground wave channel or a key value of a cable channel is decided. If the inputted key value is a key value of a ground wave channel, a tuner of the ground wave channel corresponding to the key value is selected. If the inputted key value is a key value of a cable channel, a cable tuner is selected. And a program of the corresponding channel is outputted by the selected tuner.
