SOFT INTERCONNECTION GATEWAY SYSTEM FOR OPERATING AS GATEWAY SYSTEM AND METHOD THEREOF

A soft interconnection gateway system serving as a gateway exchange and an operating method thereof are provided to operate a soft interconnection gateway system as an open gateway exchange by allocating a trunk channel between a call processing control unit and a traffic transmission unit by using the Megaco(Media gateway control) protocol and withdrawing the allocated trunk channel when the call is ended. If an IAM(Initial Address Message) for requesting a relay call connection is transmitted to a call processing control unit from an originating MSC(s301), a relay call control block of the call processing control unit analyzes the prefix of a destination telephone exchange number and judges whether the called subscriber is a mobile phone subscriber(s302). In case the called subscriber is a mobile phone subscriber, the call processing control unit transmits an LOCREQ(Location Request Invoke) message to an HLR in order to confirm the location of a serving MSC, where the mobile phone subscriber is located at present(s303). In response to the LOCREQ message, the HLR delivers a locreq message to the call processing control unit(s304). The call processing control unit transmits an IAM to the serving MSC(s305). The serving MSC transmits an ACM(Address Complete Message) to the call processing control unit(s306). The call processing control unit, receiving the ACM, transmits it to the originating MSC in response to the IAM transmitted from the originating MSC(s307).
